We bring people together to talk about land.  And imagine, and make, and envision, and plan...

Great Lakes Land Gatherings

Bringing people together to share personal experiences of Great Lakes lands and places.

Land gatherings mix facilitated story-sharing with map-making and sensory exploration to generate candid conversations about relationships to land and place. These gatherings can unearth powerful feelings of connection and care, bring new perspectives on individual ways of living, and strengthen community ties.

Conversations + Workshops

Cultivating connection

Through years of making and teaching, Ursula and Margot have developed an array of methods for bringing people into closer connection with the living world. At Land Culture Workshop, we collaborate with community groups and organizations to develop and host conversations and workshops about land, from art-based explorations to reflections on values and practices.

Visual Collaborations

Engaging imagery to show complex dynamics
Drawings are excellent at communicating: expressing and explaining intricate living relationships. They also enable discovery: through the process of visualization, a site’s characteristics become clearer, a project’s parameters more definable. We work with people to visualize sites and living systems, for a range of uses: from small projects to large, private to public.
