Great Lakes Land Gatherings
At land gatherings, we mix facilitated story-sharing with map-making and sensory exploration to generate candid conversations about relationships to land and place. These gatherings can unearth powerful feelings of connection and care, bring new perspectives on individual ways of living, and strengthen community ties.
Ursula and Margot’s lives and family histories are intertwined with the Great Lakes, and we both feel strong attachments and commitments to the region’s communities and environments. Great Lakes Land Gatherings grew out of a shared desire to amplify feelings of liveliness and care throughout the Great Lakes basin, thereby supporting the diverse communities and living landscapes of the region to thrive.
