Ithaca Waldorf School

Project Guidance

Ithaca Waldorf School (in Ithaca, NY) is establishing a farm that is deeply integrated into pedagogy, and connected to the broader community. By building out a farm on their 80-acre site, the school is making long-anticipated, significant changes to the school’s land, teaching, and operations.

During spring-summer 2025, Land Culture Workshop conducted site visits, facilitated workshops, and produced a report on the school’s plans, readiness, and next steps. This work supported Ithaca Waldorf School to both strengthen organizational capacities, and thoughtfully plan out the siting, timing, and operations of future farm elements.

Margot and Ursula bring a rare depth of listening to people, to the land, to visions, and to group dynamics. With clarity, care, and wisdom, they addressed not only what we thought we wanted, but also what we truly needed.

They are excellent communicators: organized, attentive to detail, and deeply thoughtful in their approach. We learned so much from their observations and insights - lessons we will carry forward.
